Regional Stool Lands Officer
Mr Eric Baade Pogbekuu is the current Western Regional Stool Lands Officer of the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands (OASL). His public service life started in 1999 when he was posted to the Western Regional OASL as a national service person. He was employed as an Assistant Stool Lands Officer in 2001 and posted to Tamale to explore the possibility and feasibility of establishing the Northern Regional OASL. He worked at the Northern Regional OASL for eight years, serving alternately in both Deputy and Acting Regional Stool Lands Officer capacities.
In 2009, he was posted to the Western Regional OASL where he became the Head of Operations and also doubled as the Deputy Regional Stool Lands Officer. He served in the Western Region until 2016 when he was appointed as the Eastern Regional Stool Lands Officer. He served in that capacity until 2022 when he was posted back to Sekondi to be the Western Regional Stool Lands Officer.
Mr Baade, as he is popularly known, holds a BSc degree in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MA degree in Environmental Management and Policy from the University of Cape Coast. He is a Professional Member of the Valuation and Estate Surveying Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors and has attended several national and international professional conferences. The 2018 European Real Estate Society Conference in Reading, UK and the 2011 African Real Estate Society Conference in Naivasha, Kenya are the notable among such conferences.
Mr Baade is an astute valuer and land administrator with aptitude in compensation valuation, customary land administration as well as provision of consultancy services on matters of the built environment. Ghana National Gas Ltd, Ghana Rubber Estate Ltd (GREL), Plantations SOCFINAF Ghana Limited, Golden Star Bogoso/Prestea Ltd and Ghana Free Zones Authority are among the hosts of public and private sector organisations as well as traditional and local government authorities that have benefitted from his valuation and consultancy services.
By dint of hard work and humility, Mr Baade has risen through the ranks and is currently a Chief Stool Lands Officer at the OASL. He is married to Mrs Rachael Baade and they are blessed with two handsome boys and a beautiful girl. Like Joshua, he and his household serve the Lord and are devout members of the Assemblies of God Church.
