In line with improving operations of the OASL with regards to rent mobilisation, the Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands is collaborating with the German Development Cooperation – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) to develop a revenue collection database an application. This commenced in the third quarter of 2020. The database application is to among other things help with data collection, rent assessment, demand note distribution, etc. The development of the database application is being led by the GIZ.

The application is intended to be rolled out gradually throughout the country in the course of 2021. The pilot phase was rolled out in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region. Training on map reading and data entry into the application was done for enumerators on 9th March, 2021 by GIZ. The actual data collection for the pilot was undertaken from the 10th to 19th March, 2021. In all, data was collected for about 2,000 parcels in Aplaku. The pilot was successfully done and implementation will follow soon in the Western Region.
