Acts and Policies

The establishment and subsequent operationalization of the Office was based on the enactment of acts and policies depending on the legal, administrative and operational framework of the Office. These acts and policies outlines the purpose, structure, functions and powers of the Office, as well as, its relationship with other government entities and stakeholders. However, the Office draws its powers from various legal sources, such as the 1992 Constitution, The Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands Act, 1994 (Act 481), The Office of the Administrator of Stool Land Regulations, 2019 L.I 2377, Land Act, 2020 (Act 1036). Other mandates are derived from various customary and traditional laws, Public Service Commission Act, Public Service Commission Human Resource Framework, the Civil Service Act and Administrative Procedures, Public Financial Management Administration Act, Public Procurement Act etc that have been recognized and incorporated into the legal framework to enabel the Office perform optimally.

About Us

The Office of the Administrator of Stool Lands Act, 1994 (Act 481) was passed to actualize the establishment of the Office.  Subsequently, in 1996 the first Administrator of Stool Lands was appointed and the Office began operations.
