In line with the regional re-organization drive by His Excellency the President from ten (10) to sixteen (16) regions, has challenged the Office to also expand its operations to the newly created region for improved revenue mobilization and service delivery. This Office becomes the 9th Regional Office of the OASL.

Present at the inauguration were the Deputy Minister In-charge of Lands and Forestery, Hon. Benito Owusu Bio, the Chairman for the occasion, who is also the Paramount Chief for the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council, Katakyie Kwasi Bumagama II, Omanhene of Sefwi Bekwai Traditional Area, Oyeadieyie Kwadwo Armah Basape III, Nana Abena Aniwaa II, Queen mother of Sefwi Wiawso, the Administrator for OASL Mrs. Maame Ama Edumadze- Acquah, Staff of OASL from Accra, and Heads of Department from RCC.

The creation of the OASL Western North Regional Office with district offices in Sefwi Wiawso Municipal, Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipal, Aowin Municipal, Juaboso, Bia West and Suaman will help deepen operations and reach out to stakeholder’s in the Region.

In a short ceremony held at the Okogyeabour Palace in Sefwi Wiawso, the Administrator of Stool Lands remarked that, “Over the years, the office of the Administrator of Stool Lands has lived up to its mandate by mobilizing stool lands revenue from this area, now a new region and accordingly disbursed same to its beneficiaries for the intended purpose. I therefore wish to commend both past and present officers of the various District Assemblies and chiefs for effectively using their portion of the stool land revenue to change the socio-economic lives of their citizens through the development project they undertake.”

The Dep. Minister, Mr. Bio in his inaugural speech lauded the operations of the OASL) in optimizing the mobilization of customary land revenue to alleviate poverty in stool land beneficiary communities.
